Anaemia
Anaemia is a blood disorder where a low level of red blood cells caused by iron deficiency, results in fatigue, headaches and shortness of breath.
Hematinic herbs such as Nettle and Dandelion are long valued in traditional herbal practice as a nourishing tonic, due to their high iron and vitamin C content which may also enhance iron absorption.
Nettle may also help support energy and vitality, whilst Dandelion acts as a choleretic (promotes bile flow) and hepatic tonic, helping the liver process and store iron more effectively.
Curly Dock with its bitter compounds may promote absorption helping the body to use dietary iron.
Raspberry leaf as a uterine tonic may tone the uterus and blood vessels, which can be helpful for women with heavy periods—a common cause of iron-deficiency anemia.
