Sustainability

We source our botanicals through a main trusted wholesale supplier with over 140 years of experience in global botanical sourcing. Through long-standing relationships with growers and wild harvesters, they are able to obtain high-quality herbs directly from farmers who share a commitment to responsible land stewardship and sustainable harvesting practices.

All suppliers are carefully vetted through a rigorous selection and monitoring process to ensure they meet strict standards for quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. These procedures are supported by recognised BRC and ISO quality management certifications, providing an additional layer of assurance.

Where possible, growers are selected who minimise reliance on pesticides and prioritise responsible cultivation methods. This careful sourcing process ensures that the botanicals used in our products are of exceptional quality while also being ethically and sustainably harvested.

For our customers, this means confidence in herbal products that are not only carefully selected for their purity and potency, but also sourced with respect for the people and environments that produce them

Environmental Impact

Lush green rolling hills with scattered trees and bushes, under a cloudy sky, in a rural landscape.

At The Celtic Apothecary, our connection to the natural world is at the heart of everything we do. As a small, independent herbal business, the plants and landscapes that sustain us are not just part of our work — they are part of our way of life.

We believe the environment is something to care for and protect, not simply a resource to use. From the way we source our botanicals to how we package and run our day-to-day operations, we aim to tread as lightly as possible on the earth.

We work with trusted suppliers who share our commitment to responsible harvesting, sustainable farming, and ethical practices. Alongside this, we continually look for ways to reduce waste, minimise our environmental impact, and make thoughtful choices about the materials we use.

For us, sustainability is not a marketing promise — it is an ongoing responsibility. Every small decision we make is guided by a simple intention: to honour the plants, protect the land, and help ensure that these natural medicines remain available for generations to come.
