Sore Throats
There are many medicinal herbs for sore throats, long valued in herbal tradition for their soothing, cleansing and comforting properties.
Demulcent herbs such as Marshmallow may coat and soothe mucous membranes to ease dry, scratchy or itchy throats.
Antimicrobial and Antiseptic herbs such as Echinacea, Thyme and Sage have a long history of use in traditional herbal practice for supporting the body's natural defences against throat infections and swollen glands.
Anti-inflammatory herbs such as Licorice Root, Marigold and Chamomile are are well regarded for their soothing properties, historically associated with easing redness and irritation in the throat and mouth tissues.
Add fresh ginger with honey and lemon, and drink as a warm or cold infusion. Alternatively may be used to gargle with 2-3 times a day.
